STUNNING
Stunning and uncompromising, the all-new Speed Twin 1200 RS signals its sporting intent with its nose-down attitude, top-specification suspension components, beautifully finished in gold and a premium suede material for the seat. The raked fuel tank, with its deep front cutouts, is chiselled and muscular, while the minimal throttle body covers are finished in brushed aluminium and integrated seamlessly into sculpted side panels within the slim rear frame. Underneath, the lean, angular engine casings are powder coated black and framed by an uninterrupted exhaust run flowing into twin upswept ‘megaphone’ silencers.
Modern features, like the compact LED taillight and headlight, with its distinctive light signature, are joined by classic design touches – from machined cooling fins on the cylinder head and finned header roses, to traditional twin rear shocks and a slim one-piece bench seat. Complemented by premium materials and finishes, like the brushed aluminium mudguards and headlight bezel, it’s a look that delivers contemporary design with timeless style.
DYNAMIC
The all-new RS model takes the Speed Twin 1200’s unique blend of classic character and contemporary capability and adds top-specification chassis components and cutting-edge performance-enhancing technology to the more focused riding position to deliver a modern classic with even sharper responses.
The top-specification Marzocchi 43 mm USD forks are fully adjustable, so they can be fully tailored to suit any riding style. At the rear, twin Öhlins piggy-back suspension units provide sublime damping and are also fully adjustable for the perfect set-up.
Underlining the Speed Twin 1200 RS’s intentions to be the most capable and sports-focused bike in its class, a Brembo master cylinder is paired to top-of-the-line Stylema calipers, as well as a span and ratio-adjusted MCS lever, for unbeatable braking power and exquisite lever feel.
New lightweight aluminium seven-spoke wheels add further to the agility, reducing inertia to speed-up direction changes and reacting instantly to rider inputs. Fitted with superb Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres, the outstanding handling performance can be fully exploited thanks to the outstanding feel and grip on offer.
CAPABLE
When it comes to having fun in the twisties, the RS is a class apart with thoroughly modern handling. The ‘nose down’ attitude, with lower handlebars placed further forwards and higher, rear-set footpegs, pushes weight over the front and sets you up to fully exploit the sporty geometry.
THRILLING
Thrilling sports performance comes courtesy of the legendary Bonneville Twin. Boasting the latest technology, yet full of classic character, this 1,200 cc engine packs 105 PS peak power at 7,750 rpm, with instant response thanks to its rich torque delivery peaking at 112 Nm at 4,250 rpm. And with a deep and distinctive Bonneville soundtrack from the twin ‘megaphone’ silencers, it comes along with an unmistakable sound.
FOCUSED
Lightning fast, seamless up and down gear changes can be executed without pulling the clutch lever – the Speed Twin 1200 RS is the first Bonneville Twin to be fitted with Triumph Shift Assist. Complementing the power delivery and character whether using the low-end torque and short-shifting, revving up to the red-line, or braking and downshifting into bends. And, because it’s a Triumph Modern Classic, it’s sensitively incorporated so it doesn’t spoil the clean look.
In addition to Road and Rain riding modes, the RS adds ‘Sport’ mode for an even more visceral riding experience. Sharpening the throttle response and increasing the threshold at which the lean—sensitive optimised ABS and traction control respond to wheel slip; this mode allows the dynamic performance to be confidently exploited.
FUNCTIONALITY WITH STYLE
The neat single instrument dial features two displays. A large LCD screen shows all key riding information, with speed, engine revs, gear indicator and fuel level, all clearly visible at a glance in all lighting conditions.
Underneath, the integrated colour TFT screen provides information on rider modes and other bike functions and is compatible with turn-by-turn navigation and phone connectivity via the accessory My Triumph Module. It also makes it easy to power external mobile devices thanks to a convenient USB-C charging socket mounted on the side of the unit.
PERSONAL
From customising the look, tailoring the comfort or adding protection and practicality, there’s an extensive range of genuine accessories available, and the Triumph Online Configurator makes it easy to create your perfect Speed Twin 1200 RS.
