Austin Forkner has taken a significant step forward at the ninth round of 2025 AMA Supercross, held inside of Indianapolis' Lucas Oil Stadium, as he stormed to 12th in the first 250SX East/West Showdown of the term. The race, that featured the best athletes from each coast, provided an incredibly competitive landscape, one that seemed to pull the best out of the Triumph Factory Racing rider.

Forkner showed some of his undeniable potential in timed qualification, as he placed a season-best sixth in the combined 250SX results – fourth out of the 250SX East riders – and entered the races with some confidence.

After transferring to the main event via the last-chance qualifier, he was bumped off the track early on and faced an almighty challenge. The #83 showed such tenacity as the race wore down, though, and climbed all the way from last to 12th, making a courageous pass on the very last lap to secure his final position.

The ranking – seventh among those in the East Coast championship – was a promising step in his push back to the front of the pack aboard the TF 250-X.

There is a break in the AMA Supercross schedule now, before the series resumes with round 10 in Birmingham on March 22. The event, held at the Protective Stadium, will mark the fifth 250SX East fixture of the season.

"I qualified a lot better in the timed sessions – I was happy with that. I got a really good start in the main event, despite my bad gate pick, but I got pushed into the tuff blocks. I rode too timid whilst at the back – the track was so sticky with a lot of ruts. I settled in around the halfway mark and started riding decent. I went from last to 12th and that is not terrible, especially in the 250SX East/West Showdown. We have things to work on, but we will come out swinging at the next one."

Jeremy Coker – General Manager, Triumph Racing America

"Indianapolis was a huge step in the correct direction for Austin. The day programme went the way Austin and the team want. The night programme started rough, admittedly, but Austin got it in the main. From the far outside gate, Austin nearly had the holeshot but unfortunately got bumped off the track and then fought hard to bring it home in 12th from dead last. We will continue to work and carry the momentum into Birmingham!"
